We had an amazing stay at the BOX BNB between Xmas and NY. The cabin was first class – well designed with every detail thought through to ensure a comfortable stay. The large waterfall shower was ideal after a hike across the North York Moors and the projector (for Netflix) and games provided made a nice distraction when the Yorkshire weather couldn’t be relied upon! The setting is very peaceful and we woke up to Deer in the field outside every morning of our stay (11 on one morning alone!).

There is lots to see and do in the surrounding area – Malton is a cracking market town with an abundance of pubs, restaurants and boutique independent shops. We also enjoyed trips to the Whole Hogg Farm Shop (3 min drive away) for breakfast supplies, Dalby Forest for walks and Scarborough for the coast including fish and chips! Dinner at the Crown & Cushion in Welburn (15 mins drive) was also a highlight.

There is much more to explore that we didn’t have time for this trip but look forward to returning in 2022!

My husband and I spent a wonderful few days in the Rabbit Box. The cabin had been done to a very high standard with lots of little extra details which gave it such a homely feel!

The cabins are well equipped with everything you need, including a lovely coffee machine – we enjoyed our morning coffees admiring the beautiful views! The cabins each have a log burner which made it cosy – Mike and Rachel were easily contactable for extra logs and kindling ( you are provided with a full basket on arrival!). Whilst we could easily have spent the day relaxing in the cabin, we ventured out into the picturesque surroundings. We visited Dalby Forest for an afternoon hike which offered up spectacular views. We also went to nearby Malton which is packed full of eateries and independent shops which I very much enjoyed spending some time!!

Can’t wait to come back to this wonderful area and the BOX BNB! Thank you, Pete, Mike and Rachel!.

Stayed in the Rabbit box this weekend and we had such a wonderful time.

The cabin was beautifully decorated, down to the smallest details and you were equipped with everything you need. The hairdryer even came with a diffuser attachment (if you have curly hair you’ll know how much of a rarity it is to find one of those in a hotel)

The log burner, hot water bottles and the projector made for the perfect cosy evening.

There is also lots to do around the area. We decided to head to Whitby for the day which was just lovely.

For dinner, we went to the Fox and Rabbit it which is just a 10-15 minute drive down the road and the food was absolutely amazing.

My favourite part of the stay was being able to watch both the sunrise and sunset from the cabin.

What a fantastic stay! These cabins are fabulous, everything that you would possibly need and much more! Why stay in a cottage or hotel when you have these?! Check in was fine, little post box outside of the cabin, fully equipped kitchen, living area and sofa bed and bedroom with double bed. Full bathroom with iron, ironing board, hair dryer etc. Definitely recommend if you are wanting to stay somewhere a little different. Brilliant.

We loved staying at the Duck BOX. It is incredibly well equipped, and perfect for a short getaway. There are amazing views, and it’s a great location – just a short drive from local villages, with a good local taxi firm too. The place was spotless, and the hosts were very helpful. Would highly recommend you stay here!

We had a fantastic stay in The Rabbit BOX. The accommodation was lovely and finished to a very high standard! The views are amazing, with big windows looking out over the field, we were even lucky enough to see some deer and rabbits. The location is fantastic, with easy access to some great walks in the local area such as Thornton-Le-Dale and Whitby not too far away. The owners were easy to contact and even put the lights on for us as we did not arrive until after dark. We did not need to contact them during our stay, but I am sure if needed they would have been on hand to help. We wish we could have stayed longer, but really enjoyed the 2 nights we had.

The containers are absolutely beautiful, the big windows are perfect for watching the sunrise and sunset and finished to a very high standard inside. Great location for walks in the countryside. Check in and communication was all incredibly easy. We would love to stay here again and I’m sure we will be back soon.

We loved our stay in the BOX BNB Malton – such an awesome experience! The unique space is well thought out and extremely comfortable. It felt like a luxury hotel room in a shipping container! The local village of Thornton-Le-Dale was picturesque with gorgeous walks and delicious food / drinks. An unforgettable trip.

A fabulous location and accommodation. the BOX BNB is located centrally only a short distance from the seaside and York as well as various sights of Yorkshire. Beautiful scenery around the site with country walks allowing peace and tranquillity. As for the containers they are kept immaculate and any issues Rachel and Mike are happy to help! A great spot for families and friends! Couldn’t recommend higher.

We felt really close to nature; enjoying the stars at night and waking up to green fields as far as we could see – all from the comfort of lavish accommodation. Beats camping! Lots of lovely walks and / or friendly pubs in Malton – recommended for foodies.”

My teenage son and I stopped in The Rabbit BOX for 2 nights on a gorgeous sunny warm weekend in September. The accommodation is of a very high quality and the hosts have given a great deal of thought to what you might need and have catered accordingly. The place was spotlessly clean, the bed incredibly comfortable and there are so many personal touches that make it feel just like your own home. The containers are easy to find from the road, drive down the track towards the farm and they are on the left set on the edge of a field. From the decking you can enjoy watching the sunrise or sunset without any unnatural light. It is beautiful and peaceful. There are so many lovely restaurants in nearby Malton and plenty of activities to while away the time. You are spoilt for choice. We enjoyed it so much, we will be coming back.

I had a wonderful two-night stay in the Duck BOX. The shipping container was a new experience for me, and I loved waking up to views across the field. Cosy but perfectly formed, there was space to cook and eat (no microwave), relax, and a comfy bed. I loved sitting out on the deck and the shower was really powerful too! The Duck Box is easy to get to from Pickering and Malton. There are some great walks a short drive from the apartment and public footpaths to have a wander nearby. We didn’t meet the hosts, but check in was easy and communication with Peter was great.

We love visiting this area and were keen to stay somewhere new. the BOX BNB proved to be a great choice; a stylish, clean and modern space with everything we needed for a few days away. It was just like in the photos; the weather was quite mild for the time of year and we enjoyed sitting outside and taking in the views. The container is very well insulated and it was cosy in the evenings and warm in the mornings. Also a log burner available for winter. Great location convenient for much of North Yorkshire and the coast. Very happy to recommend.

What a great weekend in a stunning location. Even with Storm Arwen very much present, the BOX BNB gave us the perfect retreat from the weather. We took our 13 weeks old baby, and the cabins were ideal for relaxed break with the family. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. Thanks Peter, Mike and Rachel.

Beautifully presented cabins, perfect for a couple to get away from the world (we took our two young children with us and there was enough room for us all). Modern, well designed and luxurious accommodation in a fantastic location to visit Malton and Pickering (10 min drive away). Easy check in and check out and brilliant communication from Pete before we arrived. Would definitely stay again.
