The BOX BNB were incredibly excited to be asked to feature in the seventh series of Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing.

We opened our doors in 2021, having converted three shipping containers into luxury cabins on a working farm in North Yorkshire, and it was fantastic to have Paul, Bob and Ted stay with us.

Mortimer & Whitehouse stayed in a cabin each and took advantage of the privacy each cabin affords, but also the closeness if coming with a group as it’s only a short stroll to your neighbours all with uninterrupted views out over the farm.

Mortimer & Whitehouse used the converted shipping containers as a place to stay whilst they went fishing at Driffield Beck, a short drive south of the North York Moors national park and the cabins. Driffield Beck rises as a spring at Elmswell in the foothills of the Yorkshire Wolds and is a chalk river that flows for around 10 miles. An angler’s paradise!

There is plenty of other fishing spots for Mortimer, Whitehouse (and Ted) to explore next time they fancy a stay in a converted shipping container in North Yorkshire. The North York Moors website here highlights river, lake and reservoir fishing options nearby including Randymere Reservoir (fly fishing), North Yorkshire Water Park Fisheries (coarse and fly fishing) and the Malton and Norton Angling club on the River Derwent.

Look forward to seeing you again soon Paul, Bob, Ted and all the Gone Fishing crew.
